We are getting close to Spring and there are some amazing things to do and see around Staffordshire when the weather starts to look brighter. From reflective walks in living memorials to strolling through enchanting estates and parks, here are five locations in Staffordshire that promise memorable spring adventures.

1. National Memorial Arboretum – Alrewas, Staffordshire

One of my favourite places in Staffordshire has to be the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas. This beautiful location is a living tribute to heroes and those we have lost, with memorials for armed forces and emergency services, alongside those for civilians including one for those lost to Covid which is being worked on. The arboretum is accessible to all and offers an indoor exhibition alongside the beautiful arboretum itself.

2. Trentham Gardens and Monkey Forest – Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire

An ideal spot for a spring outing, Trentham Estate offers something for everyone. Explore the beautifully landscaped gardens, and look to shop to your heart’s delight at the shopping village while there is a whole of play areas for kids the estate’s combination of natural beauty and engaging attractions makes it a must-visit destination as the weather warms up.

What’s more just over a mile up the road, within part of the Trentham estate nestled inside a 60-acre woodland you will find the Monkey Forest, which is home to 140 free-roaming Barbary macaques which allows you to get up close and personal and observe these clever primates up close.
