The Nintendo Switch has a huge range of single-player gems. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Stardew Valley, Spiritfarer, and Unpacking are all feel-good, low-stress games that let you play at your own pace.

Old school? Maybe. Satisfying? Absolutely. From those included in newspapers and magazines to having apps like NYT Games or Good Sudoku at your fingertips, it’s a great way to give your brain a little stretch.

You’d be surprised how many board games also offer a solo play option now! Favourites such as Wingspan, Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition, or Cascadia have all come up with gameplay for one player, and they can be relaxing, strategic, and fun.

For something super low-effort, clicker or idle games like Cats & Soup, Neko Atsume, or Egg, Inc. all of which offer a bit of serotonin without needing much from you in return.
